More on Outlets and Switches

We recently did some remodeling, so I took a couple of pictures to show the importance of these insulators. At the bottom of this box, there are holes where the box doesn't quite match up with the sheetrock. Also, these boxes are not necesarily airtight.

On the right is the same dual switch with gaskets and a clear switchplate installed so you can see the difference this makes. Any holes in the switchbox or between the switchbox and the sheetrock are completely covered by the gaskets. By applying these to every hole in the wall with a covering, the equivalent of an open window in square footage can be closed.
